Doodles (Dibujos Rápidos que hago en un tiempito libre) - 2009/05

Doodle 2009/05/01 - Dominican Amazon slaying Baggage Handler who stole my laptop
2009/05/01 VIEWER DISCRETION ADVICED: VIOLENCE AND GORE
Don't see my last doodle if you are squeamish.
It is about a Dominican Amazon beheading the baggage handler
that stole my Toshiba laptop yesterday
on my return trip from Republica Dominicana to El Salvador...

Doodle 2009/05/04 - Idea: 3 piece Bikini (+mask) for these times with A H1N1
2009/05/04 Doodle of the day:
Now that we have Porcine Fever, we will need new inventions,
like the 3 Piece Bikini set...

Doodle 2009/05/05 - Doodle/Idea: Infrared Solar Collector
2009/05/05 Doodle and idea of the day:
What if we could invent a fiber optic system that channels heat
(infrared) instead of light?
And create a system of interchangeable add ons:
stove, iron, refrigerator
(see Adam Grasser at www.ted.com),
water purifier, milk pasteurizer...

Doodle 2009/05/06 - Doodle/Idea: Excercise and Power Generation Pedals for Office Workers
2009/05/06 Doodle and idea of the day:
I am a bit fat and would like to exercise more, but am all day at the computer.
The idea is to have steps that you push when sitting on your office chair.
The steps are linked to a generator to power up the laptop.
Doodle 2009/05/07 - Doodle/Idea: Metal Structure Bed to survive Earthquakes
2009/05/07 Doodle and idea of the day:
There have been tremors in Juayua and Atiquizaya town,
and some adobe homes have cracked.
Create a bed made of Polin-C that protects you from falling walls and roofs.

Doodle 2009/05/09 - Idea: Tablet Menu and Tab Splitter
2009/05/09 Doodle and idea of the day:
Split Tab App.
The idea exists in iPhone and MS Surface, but is applied differently.
On a tablet PC, pictorial and text representations
of the food and drinks ordered appear,
and the users enter their names located on opposing sides.
With flicks of the pen they move each item to their side and the tab is splitted.
The tablet PC is connected by wi-fi to the Restaurant Ordering System.

While we are at it: Use the tablet as the Menu,
showing the choices of the day with pictures,
and even a bit of history of the food, drink, etc.

While we are at it: Use it as an entertainment system for kids:
show cartoon shorts, or an App for coloring - while the food is readied.

While we are at it: If the restaurant or place is a "destination" place,
use the web cam in the tablet to send a post-card,
"whish you were here", to friends and family

While we are at it: send the menu choices to a smart phone
(for example, if a party in the dinner is late and we want him/her
to order on his/her way to the restaurant)
and let him/her order remotely
(this would be a different App than the tablet)

Doodle 2009/05/11 - Idea: Driving Simulator for sightseeing
2009/05/11 Doodle and idea of the evening:
Create a "driving" simulator for older people, that is not about driving,
but about sightseeing (for example, Rome, Florence).
You should be able to see restaurants and menus,
enter virtual museums (that could be updated on-line to the latest expositions).
Not "Sturm und Drang" but a walk in the park.

Doodle 2009/05/11 Dominican Amazon obliterating the Letter I received from TACA for the theft of my computer
2009/05/11 Doodle of the moment:
Dominican Amazon killing the letter that TACA Airlines sent me
when I complained about the theft of my laptop.
The letter said: you are guilty because you put a laptop in your luggage
(I was carrying with me another laptop and
2 cases of Presidente beer that my coworkers requested)

Doodle 2009/05/12 - Idea: Balloon Weight Lifter Assistant
2009/05/12 Doodle and idea of the day:
We have workers on the Indigo site carrying
water and heavy stuff on their backs all day.
Put a balloon to do the heavy lifting.
Put photocells on the balloon to power a fan and
make work more comfortable. Issue: what about wind???

Doodle 2009/05/13 - Idea: Power Strip with SMS Cell Phone Technology
2009/05/13 Doodle and idea of the day:
Create a Power Strip with Cell Phone technology incorporated.
You send a SMS like 3OFF or 3ON to power up/down one of the outlets
(Deluxe Model: you can program the Power Strip
to scheduled power ups or downs - you do it sending SMS messages too)

Doodle 2009/05/13 - Idea: Noice Cancellation System
2009/05/13 Doodle and idea of the evening:
A noise cancelling frame that you can rent for your party.
The noise that escapes the enclosure is electronically noise cancelled.
For discos and pubs, there would be a permanent installation model.
Ah, and the for-rent model has disco lights!

The system works the other way around:
What if you like quiet and there is noise outside?
Install this in a library, or - this I saw at Playa El Tunco here -
a shrimp farm installation that gets lower yields
when there are rock concerts on the hotel next door
(Playa El Tunco seems to be becoming a party destination)

Doodle 2009/05/11 - Idea: Love Truck, Motel on Wheels
2009/05/14 Doodle and idea of the morning:
These days, we don't have time for the pleasures of life,
what with our busy schedules and all that traffic.
"Love Truck", is a moving motel - a motel in a truck that can bring
this needed service to a place near your office.
A quickie after lunch? Now it is possible. Reserve now! At 555-6969

And my friends here are giving more ideas:
In Easter Week bring 5 or 10 of these trucks to the coast,
so you don't have to drive back to Santa Tecla to get in the sack.
Also, make deals with escort services for the customers
that want a "full package" or "everything included".
Doodle 2009/05/14 - Idea: Micro Phone Cell Craddle
2009/05/14 Doodle and idea of the evening:
Sergio passed me his tiny cell-phone. It was Manuel calling,
and he was giving me instructions to create a product
in the inventory system on the computer.
I had trouble keeping the tiny phone between my shoulder and my cheek.
So, create a foam cradle for the tiny cell phone,
so you can squeeze it between your shoulder and cheek.
(OR use a bluetooth head set - Duh!)

Doodle 2009/05/15 - Idea: KidWeb, a Browser that only allows to visit Kid Friendly Sites
2009/05/15 Doodle and idea of the Noon:
I feel a bit dirty with yesterday's doodle/idea about the Love Truck.
So this is very clean: A Web Browser for Kids "KidWeb".
Instead of trying to filter innapropriate content,
this browser can ONLY surf to approved domains -
maybe 1 link deep outside the domain.
Also: it has a "walled" e-mail service (only friends)
and option to forward e-mails to parents.

Doodle 2009/05/15 - Idea: TweetStream, a service to write your Twitters. You just call and dictate.
2009/05/15 Doodle and idea of the day:
Are you too busy to type inanities all day long?
Are your fingers too big for your crackberry or iPhone?
TweetStream: contact our operators and say what you want to tweet.
Our operators are versed on Internet lingo
("LOL","BFF", etc...) so you appear "cool".
Also, we screen the Tweets through the Guatemalan Banking Laws -
which can get you in Jail! (China, Myanmar and Iran versions, too)

Doodle 2009/05/18 - Idea: ERP for Small Businesses by Banking Institutions
2009/05/18 Idea of the Morning:
Local banks should create mini-ERP applications
on the Web for small companies.
All checking accounts would be on the bank.
Payments for energy, water, security would be all online.
Loan applications would be streamlined,
as all the information is accesible by the bank itself.
The bank could also provide value add services like
tax preparation, legalization and inscription of the business, etc.

Doodle 2009/05/18 - Idea: Instrumentation and Standards for Cell Phone Sensors
2009/05/18 Doodle and idea of the evening:
Instrumentalize the whole country.
Use Cellular Tech. Create standard interface for phones (like RS232C or IEEE)
to comunicate with peripherals (or use Bluetooth?).
Peripherals: Weather stations, cameras, scales (for weighing children),
portable blood / urine labs (for example, Affimetrix technology).
Dot the whole country with these, feed central database.

Doodle 2009/05/19 - Idea: Hi Tech Pupusa Cooking Slate
2009/05/19 Doodle and idea of the morning:
Yesterday, Caro asked me to buy some Pupusas in Olocuilta.
This brings me the idea to create the next gen Pupusa cooking slate.
A wall of hot/cold air maintains the cooks comfortable.
A infrared camera detects the pupusas and
only fires the burners beneath the pupusas.
A laser pointer guided by the camera
points to pupusas ready to be flipped,
or that are already done.

Doodle 2009/05/19 - Idea: E-Ink Bulletin Board
2009/05/19 Doodle and idea of the evening:
I see that some of you have Amazon Kindles, which use e-Ink technology.
Create Wall Boards using e-Ink (which don't use electricity when displaying info),
for Universities, Schools, Churches, Working Place.
Show memos, ads, classifieds, notifications.
For ads and classifieds optionally put a coin operated option for payment.

Doodle 2009/05/20 - Idea: Wall Organizer with Velcro and Bins
2009/05/20 Doodle and idea of the morning:
In her Facebook Kennia Salazar says she missplaces things.
This is also my problem. Idea: wall organizer.
Differences: a bin system underneath to categorize.
You can put signs for each bin.
Also, a Velcro Pad and sticky pads you can just toss your keys,
your cell phone, etc to the wall and they will stick.
Put sticky pads in your stapler and hang it on the Velcro pad.
Doodle 2009/05/21
2009/05/21 A Car

Doodles 2009/05/21 - Idea: LoadFast, a portable conveyor to load Trucks
2009/05/21 Doodle and idea of the day:
LoadFast - a portable conveyor system for loading trucks.
The conveyor system has a turntable to move the end left and right,
and also a cable system to move the end up and down.
You adjust the end to be level with the rows of boxes you are stacking in the truck,
so that when a new box comes, you only have to push it in position.
This idea came when looking at the loading docks in my company.

Doodle 2009/05/22 - Apropos the news: "Letourneau hosts 'Hot for Teacher' night"
2009/05/22 Doodle of the morning:
Apropos the news: "Letourneau hosts 'Hot for Teacher' night" about a hot teacher...

Doodle 2009/05/23 - Idea: MyRFID, Personal RFID System
2009/05/23 Doodle/Idea:
Yesterday went to GS1 to learn about RFID (Radio Frequency Tags),
and tomorrow I'll travel to Domincan Rep.
I allways sense that I will forget something for my trip.
So, put RFID tags on things that I don't want to forget.
Program Smart Phone to inventory things,
to be sure I have everything! It will be called: MyRFID

Doodle 2009/05/24 - Idea: TACA Secure Luggage, RFID System to track Baggage
2009/05/24 Doodle/idea of the day:
TACA wants to get better, and diminish missplaced baggage.
Institute RFID (radio) tags for luggage that traces it from ground to plane
to transfer to another plane to ground.
If a piece is taken out at the wrong place,
an alarm flashes in the central computer,
and also the RFID Tags flashes a light and sounds an alarm.
The tags are recovered to be reused, before delivering the luggage to user.

Doodle 2009/05/28
2009/05/28 Willy Mayorga's idea/doodle by Roque:
A system to cool you down: put an ice cube
with a fan blowing air through the cube, to cool down.
Doodle 2009/05/28 - Allison Iraheta
2009/05/28 Aw, Allison...
I cried and cried when Allison Iraheta was eliminated from American Idol,
but didn't have a camera to record that,
UNLIKE this girl, Reba Pearce, who titled her video:
LOOK WUT U DID AMERICA!! WHY DID ALLISON IRAHETA GO HOME?! http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=allison+iraheta&page=10

And also UNLIKE this other kid, Cristina, who filmed her angry outburst:
I mean, like, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
cos like 9 of my friends and me are, like OUTRAGED,
I mean, like even OLD people were, like, this is WHACK!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1L04FGn_b8
Hahaha! I think for her, old people are like,
teenagers or something - and I am a Grandpa!
When she grows up she will surely become a vocal environmentalist.

She also gave this priceless frase:
"Like, some kind of parallel universe,
like, everything good is baad - WHAAACKED"
(does she read comics?)

Doodle 2009/05/28 - Idea: Digicel Band, a new way of distributing Airtime
2009/05/28 Doodle/idea for Cell company:
Give selected people phones to sell air-time: students,
office and plant workers, sport fans, community leaders.
Give colorful bands (see black and white illustration below - duh), to advertise.
Give them air-time, concert and sport tickets if goals met.
The illustration shows the "La Banda Digicel",
the girl pictured is a top seller...
Doodle 2009/05/31 - Idea: TrueTwitter, Trust that the Tweeterer is the real person that says that is tweeting
2009/05/31 Doodle/idea:

1) My Allison Iraheta didn't have a twitter account.
The one in there was a fake account.

2) Is it true that Slash said in twitter that
she shouldn't have been eliminated from American Idol? (Yes, it was).
 http://twitter.com/SlashHudson/status/1727813323

Well, don't wonder anymore:
Our new service, trutwitter verifies with agents,
TMZ and others and certifies if that is the true person.

Doodle 2009/05/31 - Idea: XLarga Motorcycle, a motorcycle for up to three
2009/05/31 Doodle/Idea:
Here in Dominican Republic, I often see two and three people on a motorcycle.
So, create a stretched motorcycle version, the "Xlarga" with space for three.

Doodle 2009/05/31 - Idea: ZipNet, a Net for Zip Lines
2009/05/31 Doodle/Idea:
This weekend, I was looking at a tourism guide
here in Dominican Republic,
and there were the ubiquitous zip lines.

I remember that in Honduras a woman died when falling from one of these.
So, to reassure tourists, a maker of nets for circuses now offers: ZipNet
