2009/06/01 Doodle/Idea:
It is so bad about the Air France airliner disappearing over the
Atlantic.
In these cases, it is difficult to investigate, as black box may not be
retrieved.
And nobody knows where the plane went down.
The BlackBoxStream system streams the aquired data
being recorded in the black boxes,
to satellites that save and buffer the info on Google,
Microsoft or Amazon servers. Includes GPS Info.
Also: Real time systems can monitor fly progress,
and trigger alarms if something is out of order.
GPS coordinates indicate current plane position.

2009/06/03 Doodle/idea:
Microsoft Project Natal shown yesterday on E3 is all the rage:
Cameras follow your body movements,
so the Xbox 360 knows where you are, and your limbs are!
So, here is Natal Salsa (companion of Natal Ballroom Dancing and Natal
Ballet)
which teaches dancing with stick figures and you follow the movements
and it overlays (if you want) the stick figure to your image.
You can shout: slower, stop, faster...
|

2009/06/03 Doodle/idea:
Microsoft Project Natal shown yesterday on E3 is all the rage:
Cameras follow your body movements,
so the Xbox 360 knows where you and your limbs are! Even facial
recognition.
This is another product: HighSchoolPeacecal -
it detects fights taking place (hazing and beatings are now a problem).
Gwen and Stacy, you are sooo grounded!
|

2009/06/03 Doodle/idea: Building Escape Systems
Willy Mayorga was bouncing ideas of putting Velcro on a Net for Zip
Lines,
so people wouldn't bounce off the net if they fell.
This got me to thinking as Velcro for evacuating buildings on fire, etc.
You could climb down through Velcro strip.
Other ideas: a personal parachute in a suitcase,
a "tumbling" octopuss or whatever they are called
like the ones you throw on the walls and tumble down...
|

2009/06/04 Doodle/idea: Natal City Flight
Microsoft Project Natal shown yesterday on E3 is all the rage:
Cameras follow your body movements,
so the Xbox 360 knows where you and your limbs are!
So, create a Virtual Earth navigator called Natal Fly Rome
(also, London, New York, San Francisco, etc.) and you fly using your
arms... |

2009/06/04 Doodle/idea:
Microsoft Project Natal shown on E3 is all the rage:
Cameras follow your body movements,
so the Xbox 360 knows where you and your limbs are!
So, put Natal scanners on a Football playing field and digitize the
plays.
You can "VirtualRePlay" from any angle, position, etc. -
see it from the point of view from the scorer,
or the goalie, or from birds eye view.
You move your view with hand gestures...
|

2009/06/04 Doodle/idea:
Microsoft Project Natal shown on E3 is all the rage:
Cameras follow your body movements,
so the Xbox 360 knows where your limbs are!
Game: You trott on a giant ball ("MoonWalk"), steering it to the finish.
Sometimes you have to pass a pond, or climb a mountain, or slow it down
a slope.
Workout mode: you trott in place,
Lazy mode: you use your hands to push the ball.
System calculates calories burnt.

2009/06/04 Doodle/idea: WhoYou? Facial Recognition Software
Today somebody asked: what's the name of that person?
I am very bad with names...
(and Ana Elsa Sanchez in Guate is asking me to put more ideas here).
So, create a smart phone face recognition software that reminds you the
names
(you had to previously take a picture and enter info,
for example, how many kids? birthday?).
The same picture is used by the caller ID of the smart phone.
|

2009/06/05 Doodle/idea:
Air France accident may have been because of wrong speed indicators.
There was a similar case in Peru, when a bee entered the pitot tube
that measures air-speed. More redundancy would help.
Now, GPS chips are becoming popular on phones, etc. lowering costs.
So, put 3 GPS Units (if there is inconsistency, mayority wins) as a
fallback,
backup system. Longitude/Latitude/Altitude
Note: It has been brought to my attention
that the most important speed is the relative speed to the wind,
and not the absolute speed against GPS satellites.

2009/06/09 Doodle/idea of the day: Airport Sign Post
These last two trips, when I arrived in Dominican Republic,
I had trouble finding the person that was picking me up -
there wasone sign here, another over there, etc.
So... put special stands with bright backgrounds
where the transporter clips his/her sign.
For the taxi company, a Web page to design your sign,
with a distinctive uploaded logo or
choose a distinctive icon or drawing to look for
|
2009/06/09 Doodle of the day:
On Sunday, we had to overnight in San Jose, Costa Rica,
on our way to San Salvador - because of bad weather.
The silver lining: the half dozen Brazilian models on the plane.
Tried to strike conversation with one on the bus to the hotel:
First time in Costa Rica? Curt and final reply: yes (I'm such a loser) |

2009/06/10 Doodle/idea:
I want to shoot videos when I am driving
(for guides for tourist driving in El Salvador),
but don't know where to put my camera - a generic Canon PowerShot.
So, create a universal sucktion cup and camera/device holder
(video camera, GPS, smart-phone, pictures of the family)
|

2009/06/10 Doodle: So happy!
Salvadorean American Idol Contestant Allison Iraheta (4th place)
signed with Jive Records!!! "Allison was an absolute stand-out this
season,"
stated RCA/JIVE Label Group’s Chairman and CEO Barry Weiss.
"Her bluesy, powerful voice, spunky attitude,
and edgy star power immediately captivated us
and it didn’t matter where she ranked on Idol,
we knew we wanted her to join"
|

2009/06/11 Doodle/idea:
This will need a Chemist to be solved.
Plastic Bags for Water are a problem here, littering roads, beaches,
etc.
Create a clean burning plastic bag - that can be used as fuel for
cooking, warming, etc. This will give work for people that will pick up
the bags to be sold as fuel.
|

2009/06/12 Doodle/Idea: NaturalPose
The Facebook Portrait syndrome is caused because
you take a photo of yourself extending your arm -
so you have an awkward pose and you see your extended arm.
The "NaturalPose" (tm) camera stand
allows you to take a more natural self portrait.
It has a trigger mechanism for the camera
and a mirror so you can see the display of the camera.
|

2009/06/12 Doodle/Idea:
We always see pictures of Wind Farms on the sea in Denmark.
As they are in the water, put a flotation device around the "mast"
that holds the "turbines" to generate even more electricity
from the waves in the ocean. It will be called the "Mast-Turb-ator" (tm)

2009/06/16 Doodle of the morning:
Lightweight mid-engine sports car |

2009/06/16 Doodle of the evening: Sports car with simple, clean design
|

2009/06/16 Doodle/idea:
I work near the airport of El Salvador, coastal region,
incredibly hot and with merciless sun.
ParkaShade (tm) uses technology from hi tech tents
(those flexible poles) to create shade for your car.
2009/07/07 Reality (far from ideal, but kind of works):

My car shade, done with a discarded box,
styrofoam, glue and cord.
|

2009/06/15 Doodle/Idea:
I don't like it when the volume of the ads in TV
is far louder than the regular programming - more when living in an
apartment.
I have to reach out to the remote control to turn down the volume.
So, create a system called ADWhisper (tm)
that automatically turns down the volume,
either by knowing that it is an ad, or by setting a threshold for the
volume.
|

2009/06/15 Doodle/Idea:
A faster way to buy a new/used car
(using idea of moving charts by Hans Rossling):
Show years on y-axis, price on the x-axis.
Cars appear as circles depending on price and year.
Use sliders to narrow the acceptable years and prices.
The circles have different colours for different makes (BMW, Audi,
Mercedes),
and circles are of different size according to equipment
(has Air Cond, CD Player, ABS...)
|

2009/06/17 Doodle/idea:
I was listening on the radio an interview with two fathers
(as today's is father's day), and they mentioned diapers.
Idea: Ziploc Portable (tm) is a double zip lock mechanism
that you can apply to any garbage bag.
This way, diaper odors (or garbage's) are hermetically sealed.
Ziploc Portable also has a pair of handles so it is easier to carry.
|

2009/06/17 Doodle/idea of the day:
As they say, inspiration comes in the bathroom...
For households with female and male dwellers,
there is the constant problem of leaving the toilet seat down.
PeaceSeater (tm) is a system where you leave the toilet seat down,
and when you go to pee, you press a pedal with your foot
to raise the toilet seat for just that moment.
|

2009/06/18 Doodle/Idea:
Here in El Salvador we have hidroelectric power.
We could also have eolic (wind) power at the coast.
One of the problems of eolic power is
how to store the energy when there is wind -
to use it when there isn't any wind.
So, combine hidro and eolic - with the power of the wind,
pump water UP to the dam reservoir to gain potential energy.
|

2009/06/18 Doodle/idea of the morning:
Schools are being temporarely closed because of the Influenza A (H1N1).
Opportunity for companies that distribute Netbooks or Internet access
(the lower cost laptops): Rent netbooks to the students and internet
access
so the children can continue their classes
and don't miss their education schedule.
Use optimized software for remote clases. |

2009/06/22 Doodle/idea:
News today: a woman fell overboard a cruise ship.
The newsman continued matter of factly:
This is the third ocurrency in this month... Are you KIDDING me???
Cruise ship companies don't want this publicity,
so they are retrofitting OverBoard Catcher (tm),
a system to catch people falling overboard.
|

2009/06/24 Doodle/idea:
Now that we don't have subsidies for electricity,
we have instructions to turn off air conditioning at certain hours.
So, TrackAir (tm) is a system, like track lighting,
that brings cool air where it is needed.
And it is dispensed like in cars or airplanes, through well aimed
nozzles.
Don't cool the whole building, only you.
TrackAir can also be modularly personalized
with directed lighting, clocks, etc. |

2009/06/25 Doodle of the morning:
Maybe a high end Peugeot 9009 coupé
(I know of a Citroen fan that will take issue with this,
but Citroen and Peugeot are in the same family, so don't be mad at me!)
|

2009/06/25 Doodle of the evening:
A personal high performance three wheeled vehicle.
|

2009/06/25 Doodle
Small City Car
|

2009/06/25 Doodle/idea:
Miss watching OverHauling.
I like it better when there is camaraderie,
like with Chip Foose's crew in Overhauling
than antagonism like in American Chopper.
So, I saw an ad with Chip Foose, and remembered that he makes custom
wheels.
So, create a company that lets you design your own wheels
(or choose from templates) and are done to order.
|

2009/06/29 Doodle:
A SUV 4x4, maybe a Toyota
|

2009/06/29 Doodle/idea of the evening:
I have been reading a really good magazine called
"Invention and Technology",
and the last one had an article about the SteadyCam
(a camera mount to minimize shaking).
So, create a SteadyPlatter,
that way less beer is spilled when it is brought to you...
(the illustration is at an Oktoberfest)
|

2009/06/29 Doodle/idea:
Iran wants to stop citizens reporting, disabling Internet, phone
service, energy.
So, seed journalism students with "CitizenReport" packs,
that consist of a Solar Cell Backpack, a Satellite Phone, a Netbook
- that is a self-contained, self-sufficient system to report to the
outside World.
Do this in China, Myanmar, Honduras...
